The Future is Here.
Sparling's is the largest user of remote tank monitoring technology in Canada... just one more example of how Sparling's uses technology to provide uninterrupted propane supply and enhance Customer service.
It's part of our SMART© fleet initiative.
Sparling's uses leading-edge satellite-based technology and remote tank monitors to track the amount of propane remaining in specific Customer propane tanks across Ontario.
Monitors are installed on propane tanks in service to applications (i.e. agricultural, commercial, industrial, institutional installations) which may have significant changes in propane consumption on a day-to-day, or even shift-to-shift basis.
In 2000, Sparling's was the first propane company in Canada to use Remote Tank Monitoring technology and is now using 4th generation technology: non-obtrusive installation, and improved reliability, durability and accuracy. Read More.
Here's how Tank Monitors work:
- Monitors automatically and regularly transmit data from each tank via satellite to a secure website which is only accessible to Sparling's Customer Service team.
- Using this accurate, current information, propane deliveries are scheduled to achieve maximum efficiency – and to reduce the number of trips to and from your property.
The benefits are straightforward:
- They reduce the likelihood of a supply interruption.
- Monitors improve efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, eliminate unnecessary trips and reduce emissions: this reduces our fleet's carbon footprint. And that's just SMART.
- They enable Sparling's to help meet Customer security and BioSecurity protocols by limiting the number of times per year propane trucks must enter protected facilities to deliver propane.
Monitors are installed and maintained by Sparling's personnel and there is no charge for this service. Contact your Sparling's Branch for more information.
